The Backseat Budgeter

On Sunday, March 4 at 11:30 Faith In Action will host “The Backseat Budgeter”. This is an interactive tool that lets you decide how to balance the Colorado budget. Want to increase funding for higher education? See how that would impact other budget areas. How about reducing taxes? What results would that have?

 

This will be a fun and educational opportunity to talk about the demands on the Colorado taxpayer and the ways the needs of Colorado citizens are met. We will have sandwiches and drinks, please bring a salad or dessert to share.

Lutheran Advocacy Ministry Colorado is one of twenty State Public Policy Advocacy Offices of the ELCA. It is a ministry of the Rocky Mountain Synod and the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America in partnership with its World Hunger Program.

Legislative advocacy is a crucial part of the church's ministry. Advocacy is speaking with and on behalf of another to protect human rights and promote responsible care of God's creation. Atonement is an active supporter of LAM-CO.

We had more vendors than ever this past year and attracted lots of new faces to shop and learn about small businesses and non-profits helping people earn money for their families and communities.
